Number of uninvited guests in yard upon arriving home last night:
Turkeys: 7
Deer: 3
Daylillies:
Planted: approximately 50
In bloom: 1
Wild raspberries:
Normal (animal free) yield for a July evening: a pint
Last night: 25 berries

The survivor -
So those day lillies I said were eaten, turns out only some of them were eaten and the others are budding!!!!!1!!!
So with the last ounce of hope and strength I went off to the garden store and bought this....
crossing all bendy bits and holding breath!
If was so disgusted last night I forgot to mention the disappearance of ALL daylilly buds. I have at least 10 to 12 feet of day lillies.

there is a small quantity left.
However, the creeping Jenny are in bloom -
We will now have a moment of silence for the following flowers that have become deer food -
Gooseneck
Black Eyed Susan
about 1/2 my wild daisies
about 1/2 of the wild queen anne's lace (Both of which I intentionally grow in designated areas)
Shasta Daisies
I am happy to report that the money plant is becoming "money" -
when those seed pods become white, I'll be happy to send any of my USA friends seeds.
On a happier note, I have roses:

and lookee what Annie sent me -
Hens and Chicks and they're blooming!!!!
